Privacy policy

In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or analytics tools, and loads nothing from third parties. We only process personal data when you join the early-access list or email us.

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit it, the host processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is running the site securely and reliably. Log data is kept only briefly and then deleted.

We have a data processing agreement with the host (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be processed in the USA. The host is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR); the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition.

3. Cookies, fonts and analytics

We set no cookies and store nothing on your device (§ 25 TDDDG). There is no tracking and no audience measurement. Fonts are served from our own server; no connections are made to Google or other third parties.

4. Early-access list

If you join the early-access list, we store your email address to contact you personally about early access to Sunrise, our model migration product. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, for example by emailing hello@appliedbenchmark.com or using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

After you sign up, we send you an email with a confirmation link (double opt-in). We only add your address to the list once you click it, so no one can sign you up without your knowledge. Brevo records when you confirmed, so we can prove your consent. If you do not confirm, we do not add you to the list or email you again.

We keep the list with Sendinblue GmbH (Brevo), Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany, as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Brevo stores the data on servers in the EU. We delete your address when you withdraw consent or early access ends.

5. Contacting us by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in replying). We delete the data once the request is resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Links to GitHub and LinkedIn

We link to GitHub and LinkedIn but embed no content from them. No data is transferred until you click a link; from then on, that provider's privacy policy applies.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)). Email hello@appliedbenchmark.com to use them.

Right to object: where we process data under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one responsible for us: Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI), Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden.

Providing your data is voluntary. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
